Constance Baker Motley Speaker Series: "Civil Rights Queen" - A Conversation With Tomiko Brown-Nagin

This year’s series will culminate on June 8 with a speaker event featuring Professor Tomiko Brown-Nagin. She will discuss her book Civil Rights Queen: Constance Baker Motley and the Struggle for Equality. 2021 marked the 100th birthday of Judge Constance Baker Motley and 2022 marks the release of Professor Brown-Nagin's major biography on Judge Motley. Tomiko Brown-Nagin is an award-winning legal historian, and an expert in constitutional law and education law and policy. She is also Dean for the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study and Daniel P.S. Paul Professor of Constitutional Law at Harvard Law School, as well as Professor of History at Harvard University. In this discussion, she will share her research and experience in capturing Judge Motley's story as well as her insight as to Judge Motley's legacy in the present day.
