Eligible Financial Institutions

Eligible institutions are banks and credit unions that are certified to hold IOLTA/IOTA funds. The interest from those funds, by law, are used to award grants to legal service organizations that provide civil legal services to low-income Connecticut clients.

CBF IOLTA/IOTA Eligible Financial Institutions

The following banks and credit unions pay interest on IOLTA/IOTA funds, per Connecticut General Statute 51-81c. CBF is grateful for their generosity, which funds equal access to justice. CBF is especially appreciative to Leadership Banks for paying the highest rate on IOLTA/IOTA balances and generously waive all service fees (designated with asterisk*).

Leadership Banks

Eligible institutions that voluntarily provide above-market interest rates on IOLTA/IOTA accounts are recognized as CBF Leadership Banks.

Leadership Banks generate the majority of IOLTA funds, which help low-income Connecticut residents access free civil legal aid for challenges like housing instability, domestic violence, immigration, accessing educational resources, accessing health care resources, and more.

By choosing to invest in access to justice, Leadership Banks have an immeasurable impact within the Connecticut Legal Aid Network. CBF encourages attorneys to bank with these institutions!

If your financial institution wants to advance to Leadership status in CBF's IOLTA/IOTA program, please contact us.
