Robert Elwood

A client once described Bob as “a lawyer who thinks like a venture capitalist.” It’s no surprise then that Bob co-founded the innovative law firm Practus, LLP. Bob’s practice focuses primarily on investment funds and technology companies. As a business lawyer with tax savvy, he regularly advises companies on tax planning, and he has handled hundreds of reorganizations. Whether providing pro-bono counsel to special needs children or serving as a trusted advisor to national and international clients, Bob solves legal problems with the wisdom and good judgment that comes from 30 years of experience. Bob received a Philadelphia “Best of the Bar” award in 2021 for his groundbreaking work in the first conversion of a mutual fund into an ETF. He has appeared on Nasdaq’s “Trade Talks” and has been quoted in U.S. News & World Report and other leading publications. He earned his BA from Haverford College and JD from Boston University.
