Part-Time Program/Office Assistant


The Connecticut Bar Foundation (CBF), located in downtown Hartford, seeks to hire a part-time program/office assistant for approximately 12-16 hours per week to provide help with general office work and to support planning of legal symposia and other law-related projects. A flexible work schedule is available and parking is provided.


The position will support CBF staff and board committees, which include members of the bar, the bench, and academia. The candidate must have high energy, professionalism, and dependability. Office tasks include answering phones, data input, preparing memos, drafting press releases, organizing mailings, and filing. Program tasks include assisting with event/symposia planning, arranging travel and lodging for speakers, helping with special projects, posting social media updates, and various other tasks as assigned.


Requirements: Excellent writing, editing, oral communication and organizational skills necessary. Must be detail oriented with ability to work independently. Proficiency with MS Office is essential. Familiarity with social media, databases, knowledge of the legal system, and experience with event planning a plus.
